Mehmet Cemal Uzunboylu

Director

Mehmet Cemal Uzunboylu was born in 1964 in Nicosia – Cyprus. He is a High School graduate of Commerce. He worked as a civil servant for 22 years and retired in 2020. He is the Director of BD-Center.

Mustafa Korucu, M.A.

Event Manager

Mustafa Korucu, after graduating from Türk Maarif Koleji in 1979, entered Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture and graduated as an architect in 1984. After completing military service, he started work at the Town Planning Office in Nicosia. In 1988, he switched jobs to work as a chief Architect at Nicosia Turkish Municipality, and worked at Development Control. In 2001, he was awarded by Fulbright as a short-term trainer in University of Illinois, USA. In the course of his study, he researched on Geographical Information Systems. After returning to the Nicosia Municipality, he became head of Development Control Department. In 2006, he became head of GIS department and Property Taxes. During his time, he, together with his team, prepared all the digitised maps of North Nicosia and connected all data to all these maps. In 2012, he became Deputy Manager and in 2015, he became the General Manager in Nicosia Turkish Municipality. In 2012, He completed his master’s degree. He continued till 2019 and transferred to Bahçeşehir Cyprus University. In 2021, after retiring, he started his academic carrier in Near East University, Department of Architecture, where he specialises in Professional Practice, Ethics and Mechanical Equipment for Architects. He also Works at Department of Architecture at Bahçeşehir Cyprus University.

Dr. Vasfi Tuğun

Web Master (Part-Time)

He was born in Kyrenia in 1988. After completing his primary education in Karaoğlanoğlu Primary School, he furthered his secondary education in Anafartalar Lice and Lapta Yavuzlar Lice. He completed his degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technology from Near East University, Education Faculty in 2009. In 2011, after completing his master’s degree in computer education and Instructional Technology also from the Near East University, he proceeded to  the PhD level in the same department  and completed in 2015. After teaching Computer Education and Instructional Technology on a part-time basis between 2009-2011, he went into full-time Academia in 2011. He worked as a full-time research assistant between 2011-2015 and was appointed as a doctoral lecturer in 2015. He has been working as an Information Technologies teacher at the Ministry of National Education since 2019. He is married and knows English as a foreign language.

Dr. Tahir Tavukçu

Communication Expert (Part-Time)

Tahir Tavukçu was born in Nicosia, Cyprus. After graduating from the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies at Near East University, Tahir Tavukcu completed his Master’s and PhD degree in the field of Distance Learning at the same university. After receiving his Doctoral degree in 2015 from the Near East University, he became an Assistant Professor in 2016. He has been working as an information technology teacher at the Ministry of Education and Culture since 2016. He is currently working at Değirmenlik High School. Since the inception of the Covid-19 Pandemic, he has been actively involved in the field of distance learning at the Ministry of Education and Culture. To add to his extensive knowledge, he is a seasoned researcher.

Semih Çalışkan

Technology Expert (Part-Time)

Semih Çalışkan was born in Akhisar, Manisa in 1992. He started his academic journey in İzmir,  Turkey. In 2010, he continued to the Near East University in Cyprus, at the Computer and Instructional Technologies Department. In 2019, he pursued his PhD dream and received a doctoral qualification in Special Education Teaching and Technology. In 2019, Semih Çalışkan started working at Istanbul Aydın University, as the Deputy Director of the Distance Education Application and Research Center, and simultaneously gave technology lessons. He combines these duties with his duties at Izmir Tınaztepe University, where he takes technology classes in the 2nd grade.

Beria GökaydınM.A., Ph.D. Candidate

Journals Manager

She started her undergraduate education in Cyprus at the Near East University, Science-Literature, Psychology (English) Department in 2015, and then continued at Near East University in the same year as a graduate student in the Special Education Department. In 2017, she started a pursuit of a PhD in the same field, also at Near East University. She is currently working on her thesis. She gained noticeable experience in the academia while working as a full-time lecturer, student advisor and guidance counsellor. Between 2016-2018, she joined The Academic Events Group as the general secretary of the international conference. Since 2020, she has been conducting research and serving as the deputy editor-in-chief at the United World Assistant Research and Publication Center for Innovation. At the same time, she is an executive board member of the Cyprus Sciences Association and the general secretary of the Universal Special Education and Psychological Services.

Daniel Sekyere-Asiedu, Ph.D. Student

Production Editor

DanielSekyere-Asiedu is a Ghanaian who completed his high school from Bishop Herman in Kpando and a Diploma in Telecommunication Engineering from the Department of Electrical/Electronic Engineering at the Ho Technical university, both in the volta region of Ghana. He attained a bachelor in Telecommunication Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana. He worked with JVC Ghana as a member of the electrical installation department. Afterwards, he worked with Trans Tema Power Limited as a member of the Electrical / Electronic maintenance department. He subsequently worked in Global Power Energy Limited as a maintenance supervisor all in Ghana. He went further and achieved an MSc in Computer Information Systems from the Near East University in Cyprus. During this period, he was both a Laboratory assistant and a teaching assistant in the same department, where he taught Introduction to Computer Information Systems and Computer networks. He is currently a PhD student in Near East University’s Computer Information Systems department. He concurrently works with BD Center as a Copyeditor. He has interest in Microcontrollers, Sensors, IOT, Cloud computing, Computer Networks, Database, Data Structures, Information Technologies, Programming Logic, and Information Systems.

Sabina Kwakye

Editing Manager

Having completed a Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies from the University of Cape Coast in Ghana, she proceeded to pursue a Master of Science degree in Marketing Management at the Near East University in Cyprus. She graduated as one of the brightest students and as such, was enrolled as a PhD student in the Near East University, where she is currently studying to become a Doctor of Business Administration. Sabina has held several academic positions including a position at the West African Examinations Council (WAEC, Ghana), where she made sure students were properly certified and their results were internationally recognized. Apart from her qualification as a Business administrator, she teaches English as a foreign language and helps people develop their communication skills. With the number of years of experience, she possesses in the academia, research work and her adept nature to understanding topics outside of her field of study, she has helped several researchers and provided them the guidance to revise their research into the accepted standard. She is a beacon of hope.

Jennifer Oye Gariba

Events Assistant

Jennifer Oye Gariba is a Ghanaian who completed her high school education in Achimota School, Accra, Ghana. She studied BSc in Banking and Finance at the University of Professional Studies Accra, (UPSA). She worked as an accounts officer in Barry Callebaut Ghana limited, a multinational company in Tema, Ghana. She later worked as a bank teller in Fidelity Bank Ghana. She also worked as an office manager in JSL Company Limited. She is a Christian and currently pursuing her master’s education in Business Administration, at Cyprus International University (CIU).

Tolga Savaşkurt

Social Media Manager

Tolga Savaşkurt started his education at the Department of Management Information Systems at Istanbul Aydın University with a full scholarship in 2017. He continued his undergraduate education to the 4th grade. He has been working as social media manager and designer at The Academic Events Group since November 2019.
