Advantages of Keeping a Diary in Teaching Russian Language

Abstract
The purpose of thi s study is to reveal the benefits of getti ng students from the end of l evel A1 or from the
begi nni ng of l evel A2 accordi ng to European Common Framework of Reference, to keep a di ary i n teachi ng
Russian as a forei ng language. We wi ll try to expl ai n the studi ed topi c wi th concrete exampl es from our
professi onal experi ences at Ankara Uni versi ty TOMER. We wi ll stand on contri buti on of keepi ng a diary
especi all y i n l earni ng “perfecti ve and i mperfecti ve cases of verbs” and “moti on verbs” as the most di ffi cul t i ssues
i n Russi an language, gi vi ng exampl es from the diari es of students. Thi s study also ai ms to prove that, getti ng
students to keep a di ary l ets them express thei r thoughts i n wri ti ng freel y.
