The evaluation of teachers time management skills in class by the principals view

Abstract
Time management is gaining importance in all professions nowadays. Like all other professions, teachers should improve their skills and knowledge about time management by using in-service training. In order to manage the class effectively, teachers should not waste the available teaching hours and they should manage the time efficiently. At this point, it is thought that ideas and impressions of the principals in charge of secondary education schools, about “managing lecture hours in class” are seen very useful. The participants of the research are 24 principals and 64 vice principals working in secondary education schools in TRNC. Questionnaire is used for data collection in the research. The results of the research showed that teachers are generally insufficient about lecture time management. Inefficient physical order and layout of the class, lack of visual tools and equipments, courses which are not attracted by the teacher will result in slow flowing of the lecture. Not being more interested with students who are having difficulties in learning and not giving more chance for the students who learn fast, are generally related with the teachers professional sufficiency and sensitivity. Based on the findings gained from research, it is recommended that teachers should improve themselves in managing the lecture time by in service training.
